Tinyoji

Tinyoji

I have a gaming blog and over on there I’ve started going down the rabbit hole of Solo TTRPGs and Tinyoji is the first one I’m trying out, mainly because I could buy it as a physical book.

I’ve spent several days reading this back and forth, mulling over the various tables and following all the moments and year examples in the book and to be honest it is still a bit overwhelming.

I’m pretty sure this is due to me never having encountered a solo journaling TTRPG before and unsure of how to start more than anything else.

Chock full of Oracle charts to help guide your way, this is a cosy game that takes you through the year completing ‘moments’ in each of four seasons. The ‘goal’ is to complete multiple years, mending and helping, overcoming obstacles and celebrating achievements until your locations are completely upgraded or you have a full sheet of keepsakes.

On reading it feels very low stake and low pressure, with your imagination coming up with the full scenario and outcomes, journaling that in a language/form that suits you and making connections and friendships throughout your village with other villagers.

I’ve not played this yet but will be getting a sheet started on this Saturday coming and if you want you can follow along on the Playing With Myself blog.
